The safety and security of every community depends on the level of communication established between all of its members. Our schools are no different, and in fact, they are by their own right a community. The responsibility for the safety and security of our schools belongs to everyone. Research has proven the safest school communities exist where everyone participates and is responsible for safety, and where strong lines of communication have been established to address the school community’s concerns.
It is for this reason the Student Crime Solvers Program has been established in all St. Mary’s County Public High Schools. The St. Mary’s County Crime Solvers, Sheriff’s Office, and St. Mary’s County Public Schools’ administration have formed a partnership to maintain strong levels of communication between students and school administrators to address occurrences of crime and discipline infractions within our high schools.
