Home/Hospital Teaching Program
The Home/Hospital Teaching (H/HT) Program provides short-term instructional services to students who are unable to attend school in the traditional educational environment, due to an incapacitating physical health condition or with an emotional condition. The St. Mary's County Public Schools provides an appropriate instructional program to all public school students as needed. The Home/Hospital Teaching Program is individually designed to best meet student needs within the St. Mary's County Home/Hospital policy, regulations, and guidelines. Home Teaching, although correlated with the student's planned course of studies, cannot provide all of the resources and courses taught in school. For more information, contact your student's school counselor.
Home/Hospital Teaching and Chronic Health Impaired Program (CHIP) applications for the 2023-2024 school year will be accepted starting on August 23, 2023. Please contact the Home/Hospital Teaching Liaison at your school to obtain an application. All applications must be submitted to the Home/Hospital Liaison at the school site for review and approval of the student’s class schedule as well as scheduling of Pupil Services Team or IEP team meetings, as appropriate.
