Environmental Explorers
Dates: July 10 - 13, July 17 - 20, July 24 - 27
Time: 8:00 - 2:00
Location: Elms Environmental Education Center, St. James Church Road (NOT Elms Beach Park)
Age/Grades: Rising 3rd Grade - rising 8th Grade
Cost: $200
Description: Environmentally-focused outdoor nature camp for students entering grades 3-8. Students will explore, play and create in a variety of natural settings ranging from the Chesapeake Bay to marshes, ponds, forests and fields. Possible activities will include seine fishing in the Chesapeake Bay, dipnetting in the marsh and pond, birdwatching, capture and study of insects, turtles, and amphibians, games, nature journaling, Native American STEM skills such as making fire, cordage, and fletching arrows, and nature arts, crafts, and dance.
Summer Arts Academy
Registration for the Summer Arts Academy is now closed.
Dates: June 26-29
Times: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Location: LHS
Grades: Rising 4th graders - rising 9th graders. Students must have at least 1 year of experience and bring their own instrument for band or orchestra majors.
Cost: $200
Description: At the Summer Arts Academy, students have the opportunity to explore multiple topics in the arts through engagement in the creative process. Participating students select a camp "major" to focus on during the week. The available opportunities include art, band, chorus, orchestra, and theatre. Additionally, students have the opportunity to participate in two "minors." These opportunities include bucket drumming, composing, musical theatre, cartoon art, and piano.
