Deaf Education Services

The St. Mary's County Deaf Education team provides children who are deaf or hard of hearing with high-quality individualized services from birth to age 21.  Our teachers use a variety of communication approaches, depending on the needs and abilities of each student as determined by the IEP team.  In addition to working directly with students, our teachers work collaboratively with school staff to build an inclusive educational environment where each student is able to access the general curriculum.
