Facility Coordination, PE, and Athletics

The Department of Facility Coordination, Physical Education, and Athletics is responsible for coordinating the use of school facilities and grounds, the building modification process, the implementation of the physical education standards and curriculum, and the implementation of systemwide education-based athletics at the local, conference, and state levels.

The Department of Facility Coordination, Physical Education, and Athletics works directly with schools to support the use of facilities and grounds by internal staff and groups and organizations outside of the school system. The use of SMCPS facilities and grounds for community purposes is encouraged in accordance with the Public School Law of Maryland. 

The organization requesting to use SMCPS facilities must comply with SMCPS Policy KF.
