Attendance Week - September 15-18 2025

St. Mary’s County Public Schools will celebrate Attendance Spirit Week from Monday, September 15, through Thursday, September 18, 2025. This districtwide event is designed to promote the importance of being present every day and reaching our systemwide goal of a 94% attendance rate.
Each day brings a fun theme to encourage school spirit and highlight that attendance matters:

• Monday, September 15 – Jersey Day
  • Wear your favorite jersey and join the team effort to reach 94%!
• Tuesday, September 16 – Dress Like a Royal Day
  • Attendance is the key to the throne—show your school pride in royal style.
• Wednesday, September 17 – Dress Like it’s ’94
  • Throw it back with your best ’90s look. Being at school is totally RAD!
• Thursday, September 18 – School Spirit Day
  • Show your school colors and celebrate the power of being present.

Reminder: Friday, September 19, is Fair Day. Schools will be closed.
Missing 10% of the school year (about 18 days) is considered chronic absence, which impacts student learning and growth. Attendance Spirit Week is an opportunity for schools to have fun while reinforcing the importance of attending every day.
