2026 National Board Certified Teachers

Congratulations to the recent cohort of 45 National Board Certified Teachers at the BOE Meeting on March 18!  45 staff members received their National Board Certification, and 4 educators completed their Maintenance of Certification. Prior to this cohort’s achievement, SMCPS had 52 current NBCTs. With this new group, SMCPS has nearly doubled its cohort size, representing a 94.2% increase, bringing the total of National Board Certified Teachers in SMCPS to 97.

For 2025, the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) ranked SMCPS as 17th
in the nation based on the total number of newly certified National Board Teachers,
underscoring the ongoing commitment to instructional excellence and student achievement.
