LEONARDTOWN, MD – St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS) will offer a Pre-Kindergarten Expo focusing on Foundational Language, Literacy, and Mathematics skills on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center (JAFCTC). Hands-on learning stations, practical learning opportunities that can be easily replicated at home, and prizes will be available. Registration is required for participation. Please contact Ms. Patricia Lynn Trehern at pltrehern@smcps.org, Early Childhood Resource Teacher/Coach to register or if you have questions.
Early Childhood parents, with children in grades Pre-K to 2, are invited to participate in a series of Conscious Discipline Virtual Workshops beginning on March 5th through April 29th from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with Lead Instructors Amy Speidel and Lety Valero.
The session on March 13th will be in person at the JAFCTC from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Topics include:
● March 5: Learning Responsibility with Age-Appropriate Jobs (Virtual)
● March 13: What Temper Tantrums are Telling Us (In Person with Amy Speidel)
● April 1: Getting Ready for the Next Grade and Preventing the Summer Slide (Virtual)
● April 8: Making Time to Connect and Be Present (Virtual)
● April 29: Managing the Bedtime Battles (Virtual)
