LEONARDTOWN, MD – Superintendent of Schools, Dr. J. Scott Smith, announces the administrative appointments made by the Board of Education at its meeting of April 8, 2026.

The Board appointed Ms. Subha Manivannan as Supervisor of Accounting and Auditing, 12 month, in the Department of Fiscal Services.  Ms. Manivannan holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s of Commerce from the University of Madras, India.  Ms. Manivannan currently serves as an Accountant in the Department of Fiscal Services.   

The Board of Education was informed of the following Administrative Transfer:

Ms. Denise Coyne will transfer from Assistant Principal, 12 month, at Chopticon High School, to Supervisor of School Counselors, 12 month, in the Department of Student Services.  

Ms. Manivannan’s appointment will become effective April 13, 2026.    

Ms. Coyne’s transfer will become effective July 1, 2026.
