Administrative Appointments Announced - March 27, 2025

LEONARDTOWN, MD – Superintendent of Schools, Dr. J. Scott Smith, announces the administrative appointments made by the Board of Education at its meeting of March 26, 2025.

The Board appointed Mr. Joseph Wysokinski as Director of Maintenance in the Department of Maintenance. Mr. Wysokinski holds a Master’s Degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University and a Bachelor’s Degree from East Stroudsburg University. Mr. Wysokinski currently serves as the
Acting Director of Maintenance in the Department of Maintenance.

Ms. Katie Kortokrax has been appointed as Chief Academic Officer in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Kortokrax holds a Master’s Degree from Towson University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University. Ms. Kortokrax currently serves as the Principal of Captain Walter Francis Duke Elementary School.

Mr. Wysokinski’s appointment will become effective March 31, 2025.

Ms. Kortokrax’s appointment will become effective July 1, 2025.
