Administrative Appointments and Transfer Announced - April 10, 2025

LEONARDTOWN, MD – Superintendent of Schools, Dr. J. Scott Smith, announces the administrative appointments made by the Board of Education at its meeting of April 9, 2025.

The Board appointed Mr. Jeffrey DiRenzo as Director of Student Services II in the Department of Student Services.  Mr. DiRenzo holds a Master’s Degree from Chapman University, and a Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech.  Mr. DiRenzo currently serves as Principal at Park Hall Elementary School. 

Ms. Donna Thorstensen has been appointed Director of Accountability and Reporting II in the Department of Accountability and Reporting.  Ms. Thorstensen holds a Master’s Degree from Towson University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Lipscomb University.  Ms. Thorstensen currently serves as Principal at George Washington Carver Elementary School.

The Board of Education was informed of the following Administrative Transfer:

Mr. Marc Pirner will transfer from Principal at Chopticon High School to Principal at the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center. 

These appointments and transfer will become effective July 1, 2025.
