Beginning July 1, 2020, St. Mary's County Public Schools is using an automated service that greatly simplifies and streamlines the process of recording and managing absences and finding substitutes. This service is called SmartFind Express. The SmartFind Express service will be available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be accessed via the internet and phone.
You can interact with SmartFind Express on the internet at https://smcps.eschoolsolutions.com/ Here you will be able to enter absences, check your absence schedule, update PIN information, and exercise other features such as uploading your lesson plans for substitutes to view online.
You can also call SmartFind Express at 301-610-3215. Simply follow the voice menu to enter and manage absences and access other features.

SmartFind Express also has several helpful guides under the “Help” menu located in the top right corner of the SmartFind Express screen once you log in.
Beginning in February 2018, substitutes may be eligible to utilize earned sick leave. Substitutes are encouraged to check the Employee Access Center (EAC) to determine if they have available any earned sick leave. Substitutes may complete the Sick and Safe Leave Request form and submit to Human Resources.
