By-Laws

The original bylaws of the Council embraced the Coordinated School Health Model promoted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This model was comprised of eight components that collectively addressed school health. In 2016, the bylaws underwent a revision to reflect the goals of the Healthy St. Mary's Partnership and the CDC/ASCD Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model.

What is the Whole Child Framework™?

Promote Long-Term Development and Success

ASCD's Whole Child approach transitions from a focus on narrowly defined academic achievement to one that promotes the long-term development and success of all children.

Support for Schools and Communities

Through this approach, ASCD supports educators, families, community members, and policymakers as they move from a vision about educating the whole child to sustainable, collaborative actions.
