Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program

The Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) are a series of end-of-course exams that test student knowledge of Core Learning Goals (CLGs) established by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).

Students participate in four required subject area tests:

  • MCAP Algebra/Data Analysis
  • MCAP English 10
  • American Government
  • Maryland Integrated Science Assessment (MISA)

Assessment graduation requirements:

Students graduating in the 2019-2020 must have:

  • Participated in the MISA
  • Pass the American Government Assessment
  • Participated in MCAP Algebra I
  • Participated in MCAP English 10

Students graduating in 2020-2021 school year must have:

  • Participated in the MISA
  • Pass the American Government Assessment
  • Pass MCAP Algebra I
  • Pass MCAP English 10
