Superintendent's Staff Advisory Group of Employees

Purpose

The Superintendent's Advisory Group of Employees (SAGE)  is a representative body that will communicate on a variety of important topics for our stakeholder groups. The SAGE will discuss openly with the Superintendent matters as they pertain to topics discussed at the SAGE meetings, held four times during the school year (2025-2026 SY - September 29, January 12, and March 12).  Each meeting, three key areas will be addressed based on the needs of staff:

  • Communication(s);
  • Staff interests; and
  • Climate.

 

Role

The role of the SAGE members will be to: 

  • advise the Superintendent on issues/decisions and/or matters that SMCPS is facing;
  • be informed about the background, rationale, and decision-making processes made by SMCPS throughout the year as issues arise;
  • communicate issues and concerns raised by various stakeholders as represented by members;
  • share SMCPS’ vision/mission with a variety of representative groups; and
  • accurately represent all staff members.

 

Membership

The advisory group shall be comprised of representatives of the following groups:

  • A certificated employee from each school (29) as TOY nominees
  • A non-certificated employee from each school (29) as ESPY nominees
  • A Supervisory representative, each from Supporting Services and Central Office (2) - One from S.S. , LOE Nominee from C.O.
  • A Non-Supervisory representative each from Supporting Services and Central Office (2) as ESPY nominees
  • A School-based Administrator representative from each level (Elementary, Middle, and High) (3) as POY/LOE nominees
  • A representative appointed by EASMC (1)
  • A representative appointed by SMASA (1)
  • Chief of Staff (1)
  • Supervisor of Reporting and Communication (1)
  • Superintendent (1)
