Chief of Staff

Dr. Dale P. Farrell is a proud alumnus of St. Mary’s County Public Schools, graduating from Leonardtown High School in 1992. He began his educational career in 1997 as a Business Education Teacher at Chopticon High School, where he sponsored the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and coached Softball and Girls’ Lacrosse.
In 2003, Dr. Farrell transitioned from the classroom to administrative roles, serving as an Assistant Principal at Chopticon High School. The following year, he joined the Department of Human Resources, where he has held various positions, including Certification Specialist, Supervisor of Teacher Recruitment, Supervisor and Director of Human Resources, and currently, Chief of Staff.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Frostburg State University, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Maryland College, a Master’s in Human Resource Development from Towson University, and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Farrell is certified to teach Business Education (Grades 7-12) and holds Administrator I, Administrator II, and Superintendent credentials.
A dedicated member of several professional organizations, he has served as Chairman of the Maryland Negotiations Service and the Maryland Association of School Personnel Administrators.
Dr. Farrell and his husband, Pete, reside in Mechanicsville, Maryland. They enjoy watching the Washington Nationals and traveling to various ballparks across the United States.
