ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED

LEONARDTOWN, MD – Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Michael J. Martirano , announces the administrative appointment made by the Board of Education at its meeting of May 27, 2008.

The Board appointed Ms. Katherine Norton to the position of principal at Park Hall Elementary School . Ms. Norton currently serves as an assistant principal at Spring Ridge Middle School .  Her experience also includes serving as an assistant principal at Margaret Brent Middle School; a mathematics teacher at Leonardtown High School, Orange Park High School (FL), and Prince George High School (VA); and serving as a naval officer from 1988-1994. She earned a Master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of North Florida , and a Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Pfeiffer College in Misenheimer, NC .   This appointment becomes effective July 1, 2008.

In addition to this appointment, Mr. Paul Fancella, current principal at Park Hall Elementary School , will transfer to Green Holly Elementary School to replace retiring Principal Karla Brown.  Mr. Kevin Igoe, a pupil personnel worker in the Department of Pupil Services, will transfer to Park Hall Elementary as an assistant principal.  These transfers become effective July 1, 2008.
