SUMMER SPACE CAMP SCHEDULED

 

 

LEONARDTOWN, MD St. Mary’s County Public Schools, in collaboration with the Patuxent Partnership, is pleased to offer the second annual Summer Space Camp.

   

            Two sessions are designed for students entering grades 4-6, and will run June 16-20, 2008.  Two additional sessions will serve students entering grades 7-9, and run June 16-27, 2008.  The sessions will be held 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day at Great Mills High School . 

   

These camps provide opportunities for students to participate in hands-on, minds-on activities in the areas of science, mathematics, technology, and engineering.  Students will explore topics such as Earth Science, Engineering, Rocketry, Space Citizenship, and Space Science through classroom activities as well as through authentic field experiences at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Goddard Space Center , and the National Air and Space Museum .
