1^st Tomorrow’s Leaders group to be recognized

LEONARDTOWN, MD -- On May 6, 2009, the Board of Education of St. Mary’s County and Dr. Martirano, superintendent of schools, will be participating in the recognition of the first participants in the leadership development program Tomorrow’s Leaders which is held for the support staff of St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS). This year-long program, the only one of its kind in Maryland , provides participants with a broader knowledge of the school system, leadership skills, management skills, and the role educational support staff play in the success of SMCPS students.

The following staff members participated in the first group of Tomorrow’s Leaders: Ann Davis, Sharon Dvorak, Van Sage, Joe Shade, Mary Smith, Beverly Dahlstrom , Buddy Goddard , Mary Ann Hickey, Tracy Lumpkins, Donna Phelan, Phyllis Smith, Eric Turpin, Eugene Butler, Lori Byrne, Pat Davidson, Cheri Godfrey, Paul Hampton, Leslie Montgomery, Tammy Smith, Faith Abernethy, Clare Brubaker, Scott Lawrence, Kathy Mancini, Gloria Ramos, Warren Trossbach, Louis Barnes, Janice Batts, Brenda Dale, Florence Cline Devine, and Lawrence Hatton.
