TRANSITIONING OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL
LEONARDTOWN, MD – St. Mary’s County Public Schools’ Partners for for Families and Schools is hosting a seminar entitled, Everything You Need To Know About Transitioning Out of High School (but didn’t know to ask), on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the Board of Education Meeting Room at 23160 Moakley Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
This seminar is specifically designed to meet the needs of families who have a child with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and is exiting high school. High school students with IEP’s, parents, and teachers are welcome to attend and learn more about: graduation requirements for a diploma and a certificate, a timeline of transitioning activities that should be completed before exiting high school, the difference between eligibility and entitlement, and how to begin the process of accessing funding through adult service agencies.
Registration is required for this free seminar. To register, please contact Ms. Susan Shannon at 301-863-4069, or by email at partnersforsuccess@yahoo.com.
