PRESS RELEASE
St. Mary’s County Public Schools is pleased to remind families
that The Official SAT Online Course is
available to all high school students.
The Official SAT Online Course is the
only online course developed by the test maker. This program is personalized, comprehensive,
and available 24 hours a day
from any computer connected to the Internet at www.satonlinecourseschool.com. Students can use the course
outline as a guide for self-paced study as they prepare to participate in upcoming
administrations of the PSAT/NMSQT and SAT exams.
The course's 18 interactive lessons cover the SAT's critical
reading, writing, and mathematics sections, and the PSAT/NMSQT. The lessons feature
interactive activities and multimedia content to create an engaging learning environment.
Students who use this program gain valuable experience by taking six practice tests,
answering more than 600 practice questions, and responding to practice essay questions—all
developed by the test maker. Students also increase their confidence by practicing
with questions just like the ones they'll see on test day.
This program offers valuable feedback for students and educators.
Students receive explanations of answers to all questions in the online course.
Reviewing detailed explanations helps students concentrate on areas where they need
improvement. Students receive personalized score reports on all practice tests and
quizzes. With this information, students can better understand where to focus additional
study. This program offers an auto essay scoring service, allowing students to practice
for the SAT essay by responding to essay questions and getting back immediate, computer-generated
scores. The auto essay scoring service employs artificial intelligence to emulate
the process used by expert human scorers on the SAT.
If you have any questions
about this program, or about how to obtain an access code, please contact your guidance
counselor, or your school’s testing coordinator.
