St. Mary's County Health Department The mission of the County Health Department is to protect and promote the health of St. Mary's County Citizens. Health Connections - From St. Mary's Hospital (click on Classes) The Health Connections events calendar is a community service of St. Mary's Hospital. Each month the hospital offers informative, supportive, and educational programs for young and old alike. St. Mary's County Chapter of the American Red Cross This site provides local disaster safety guidelines, location information, overviews of programs and services, course calendars, and links to additional resources. The Arc of Southern Maryland The Arc promotes community involvement, responsibility, independence and personal success for people with mental retardation and related disabilities and their families in Southern Maryland (Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties). This site provides information on a broad range of services, including family support and advocacy, residential services, supported living, and employment and day activity. The Arc also provides community education, information and referral services, and a resource library. St. Mary's County Department of Social Services This site provides department contact information, statistical information for St. Mary's County, emergency food providers, emergency and transitional housing programs, and information on childcare and child support.St. Mary’s County Department of Juvenile Services The Department of Juvenile Services (mission) embraces a balanced and restorative justice philosophy. DJS seeks to ensure the public safety and protection of the community, to hold juvenile offenders accountable to victims and communities, and to develop youth competency and character to assist them in becoming responsible and productive members of society. St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office The web site for the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office, the oldest Sheriff's Office in the State of Maryland, and one of the first in the nation, provides department contact information, services provided, and employment opportunities. Data is included on the population of the county and historical information. Resources for Children The Resources for Children publication is a website developed by the St. Mary’s Public Schools to link families and children to community resources including churches for a variety of needs from child abuse and neglect, homelessness, substance abuse, need for shelter, food and clothing, Family and Child Counseling, legal aid, mental health care, and parenting education. St. Mary's Network of Care This online community servoce provides critical information, communication and advocacy tools with a single point of entry. This site can greatly assist families in finding the best services for their children. It's a better way to connect to the community that cares for our children.
