New Teacher Seminars 2008-2009

These sessions are planned for every 2nd Wednesday of the month and will offer practical strategies for immediate application. These sessions will provide differentiated processes for elementary and secondary teachers. Sessions will provide time for discussion, problem solving, and learning.

  • Oct. 15 Lesson and Unit Planning Using Assessments to Guide Instruction Content-Based Workshops

  • Nov.12 Accommodations for Special Needs Students in the Inclusion Classroom

  • Jan. 14 Cultural Diversity and Sensitivity

  • Feb.11 Reflecting on Phases of First Year Teaching Understanding Assessment, Part I

  • Mar. 11 Understanding Assessment, Part II: Using Scoring Tools

  • Apr. 1 Spring Re-Energizer

  • May 13 End-of-Year Procedures Culminating Activity

Resources:

  • Teachers who participate fully in all sessions and complete a reflection log will earn three (3) MSDE Continuing Professional Development credits that can be applied toward the renewal of your certificate.

  • Teachers may elect to be paid $50 per session for up to three sessions.
