The Leadership Development Program provides the knowledge, skills, and support necessary to nurture their leadership abilities.Leadership development programs extend to all levels of leadership, including:
Access workshops specifically designed for educational leaders in St. Mary's County Public Schools. PILOTS The Potential Instructional Leaders of Tomorrow's Schools (PILOTS) group is a selected group of teacher leaders, identified by their principals as future leaders. This group meets periodically with the Superintendent and school system leadership staff in preparation for future leadership roles. Leadership Development Academy The Superintendent’s Leadership Development Academy is held each summer, with follow-up sessions held monthly throughout the school year. Assistant Principal Seminars Assistant Principals are vital to our system's success. Monthly sessions are held with APs at which important issues are discussed and information is shared. Their professional development as leaders is essential. Administrative and Supervisory (A&S) Leadership Seminars Monthly seminars with our school system leaders keep lines of communication open and maintains high quality, ongoing professional development. Principals, Supervisors, Program Coordinators and Directors participate in ongoing professional dialogue and learning. |
