St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS) applies for and utilizes local, state and federal grant funding to enhance school system instruction.  The main source of funding is received from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE); other sources including the St. Mary’s County Health Department, Local Management Board (LMB) and federal funding.  This funding is categorized as restricted or grant funding.

The restricted funds accountant is responsible for the preparation, monitoring and reporting of the financial requirements for these funding sources.  Support is provided to the grant managers to assist with expending these resources for enhanced instruction in our schools.
