Work Management

PROCEDURES FOR WORK MANAGEMENT REQUESTS

IN ORDER FOR THE St. Mary's County Public Schools Maintenance Department’s work management system to be effective and efficient, all work order requests should be directed to the Work Order Specialist by way of the on-line Work Management System, InfoNet.

In addition, to minimize confusion, it is important that we direct question or problems regarding this system and/or any work request issues to the Work Order Specialist and not attempt to contact the maintenance foreman directly. Two staff members from each facility have been designated and trained to use the InfoNet system and should be consulted regarding any work requests that need to be initiated.  Work order concerns or needs should be addressed by these individuals utilizing the following:

  1. Access InfoNet from the designated computers
  2. Enter you name, email, facility name, a brief description, and a more adequate explanation including the location in the facility of the required work (i.e., CR12, boys locker room bathroom, etc.)
  3. Submit the request.

The work request is sent directly to the computer of the Work Order Specialist.

Additionally, you may check any work orders that are relative to your facility by accessing InfoNet, selecting the Work Request Status, Work Order Information, or Work History sections; enter your location in the drop down menu, hit submit, and all work orders will be listed at the bottom of your screen.

PROCEDURES FOR REQUESTING CLIMATE CONTROL SERVICES

Requests for climate control relevant to after normal school hours should be submitted in writing utilizing a facility usage form that has been approved by the administrator.  Once approved, the request should be included with a facility usage form and submitted to the Division of Supporting Services, Maintenance Department, at least two days prior to the scheduled event.  This notification should contain the area(s) of the building that will be occupied, the beginning and ending times, and the date that the event will occur.

Schedules will be adjusted, such that, the normal occupancy temperatures will be attained at least (1) one hour prior to the beginning of the event.

Your cooperation and assistance will assist the Maintenance Department in providing a positive environment for your event.
