Scholarship Application for Students Pursuing a Career in Education
Under the sponsorship of the St. Mary's County Council of PTAs, the Lettie Marshall Dent Scholarship offers three, one time awards of $500 to eligible high school graduates who plan to pursue a career in education in the public schools of St. Mary's County. Awards will be given to one eligible applicant from each of the public high schools in St. Mary's County.
The following materials will be required to qualify:
- Completed application (3 pages)
- Copy of high school transcript (3.0 cumulative average for grades 11th and 12th is required)
- Applicant essay
- Two letters of reference
- Signature of applicant
PLEASE NOTE:
Without all required material and signature, your application will not be considered.
Completed applications must be postmarked by March 31st.
Awards will be announced by May 1st.

The Board of Trustees of the Lettie Marshall Dent Scholarship for Teacher Education consists of representatives from the St. Mary’s County Council of PTAs, the Education Association of St. Mary’s County, and St. Mary’s County Public Schools.
