ASBO - MD & DC Announce Winner of the Fay Miller Education Leadership Eagle Institute Award

LEONARDTOWN, MD - On June 4, 2011, Mr. John Lang, Executive Director of the Maryland-District of Columbia chapter of the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) announced that Victoria (Vicky) Mayle, Procurement Coordinator for St. Mary’s County Public Schools, is the recipient of the 2012 Fay Miller Education Leadership Eagle Institute Award. The award was established in 2011 in honor of Fay Miller of Kent County Public Schools (retired) and is given to an ASBO member who exemplifies a commitment to education, stellar leadership, volunteerism, and belief in life-long learning. The Eagle Institute is an annual event sponsored by ASBO International designed for school business leaders to explore current “school business management issues through a historical lens”. This exclusive 2012 event will be held in historic Philadelphia, PA July 24 – 27, 2012, is limited to 40 participants and will focus on The Leader As Negotiator. Mr. Greg Nourse, Chief of Fiscal Services and Human Resources said, “Vicky is an exemplary employee who has contributed greatly to modernizing and streamlining our procurement process.
