INVITATION TO BID (ITB) & REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFp)
Simplified Request for Proposals: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Consulting Services
RFP: SMCPS-2017-04-DSS-DC

St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS) is soliciting proposals for consulting services for assessments, feasibility studies, and small scale design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including fire/life safety systems. The consultant may also perform peer reviews on the work of other MEP consultants for larger projects. This will be an on-call contract for an initial one year term, with options for two one year renewals. Individual task orders will be based on proposals submitted for personnel on an hourly basis. This contract will be used by the departments of design and construction, maintenance, and capital planning.

St. Mary’s County Public Schools currently has approximately 18,000 students and operates 32 facilities. More and more emphasis is being given to the replacement of existing equipment and systems as they near the end of their service life. SMCPS is seeking a highly qualified firm with extensive experience with K-12 facilities. The anticipated projects may be performed through Indefinite Quantity Contracts for construction, Request for Quotes, or competitive bids. Funds for initial assessments and studies are often limited so SMCPS is seeking a firm that will work effectively and efficiently with SMCPS.
