About us

The Academy of Finance, housed at Chopticon High School, is a School of Business Finance and Management. Academy students develop professional skills, receive specialized instruction in business finance and management, and gain an awareness of the marketable skills needed to be successful in the field. The students may also acquire practical experience via field trips, internship opportunities, and course projects.

Unique learning experiences unique to the AOF include the opportunity to earn college credit through AP courses and/or dual-enrollment as well as the opportunity to work with a skilled and knowledgeable Program Advisory Council, a group of business and community partners that mentor the students. Students develop the transferable skills (analytical, technical, presentation, higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and communication) that are paramount to college and career success as well as success in business-related fields.
